New Orleans

February 11th, 2010

I had to go to New Orleans for work over our 9 year anniversary so Dustin came and spent a couple days with me there.

I didn’t quite realize we were going to be during Mardi Gras.  Bourbon street was a little nuts. There were lots of parades and people out everywhere, so excited for the Super Bowl.

On Friday afternoon we took the street car around New Orleans.

Of course we had beignets and cafe Au Lait’s at Cafe du Monde.

The Mississippi

Hanging out at our hotel. We heard some great music on our last night there as well.

Sesame Street Live!

Tamara and I took the girls to see Elmo.  We had a blast.

After the show hanging out at our house.

Cousins

January 10th, 2010

Uncle Dennis has a birthday this weekend so we had the kiddos over so he and Niki could go out to dinner.  Grif & Kate spent the night and the kids had a great time.  Here they are in their PJs watching Maya’s favorite show Curious George’s Christmas Special.

Maya is quite fond of baby Olivia.

Sweet girl.

Family

January 2nd, 2010

Great Aunt Kathy was here from Michigan for Christmas.  Here’s a pic of her, P-Ma and Maya.

Maya took everyone down to show off her new play area.  They had a little band going.

My cousin Mark is back from the Marine’s and he brought his 2 kids over to play and my mom brought Lilli.  Here are the kiddos playing on the new table Grandma Jacobsen got Maya for Christmas.

Little Mark, Lilli, Shelby, Mark & Maya are playing with Play-doh that Maya got from Lilli & Luna for Christmas.  The kids played very good together.

Christmas 2009!

December 31st, 2009

Christmas for us started on Christmas Eve Eve when Dustin, Maya & I went to church.  The service was wonderful and then we stopped by Aunt Niki’s on the way home.  The following day we went to my Mom’s for dinner and to exchange gifts.  Below is a picture of Corey, Brie and the tiny baby belly.

P-Ma got Maya a Princess bed, she loves it!

Here is Maya on Christmas morning.  She’s playing with her new horsie from Uncle Lee & Kaitlin before getting into her other gifts.  We had a blizzard on Christmas Eve so it was quite a challenge for Grandpa, MomMom, Lee & Kait, Brie & Corey to get here, but when they did we had a nice brunch and exchanged gifts.

We got her an easel for her new play area in the basement.

We worked very hard to get Maya’s play area ready for her on Christmas.  Thanks to Dustin for staying up late several nights to get it just right.  It doesn’t look too fancy, but she loves it, especially her little house area.

Grandpa & Na Na got Maya this bike, she’s on it every day!  She especially likes the turn signals, horn and music.

Grandma Jacobsen was here from Tipton staying with the Ambersons for the holiday so we got to visit with them too.  Grandma came over to show Maya her new table and she loved it.  Another favorite toy was the vacuum Maya got from Aunt Niki and family.  If it worked, our house would be very, very clean by now.  Maya loves all her new toys but had the most fun spending time with her family.  She is the most happy when she’s spending time with family and friends.

Little Monkey Bizness with Friends

December 29th, 2009

Maya’s got her new bath baby and Griffin’s monkey she’s borrowing and ready to meet Lilli & Luna at Little Monkey Bizness to play and exchange gifts with the girls.

Jumping with Daddy!

Opening the REAL princess phone, just like Lilli’s!

Lee graduates from MU!

December 21st, 2009

Lee graduated from MU this weekend.  We went up to Columbia for the ceremony and out to lunch after. Maya was so happy to see her Uncle and Kaitlin but wasn’t sure why he had the funny outfit on.

Lee’s best friends Nathan, Kevin and also Mom.

Dad, Lee & Karen

Brie, Lee & Lora.  Can you see my little niece or nephew?  Look closely, coming in June!

The cute couple

We’re so proud of you Lee!  Congrats.

The Fairy Princess

December 20th, 2009

Last weekend we went to see the fairy princess at the KC Museum.  Chris, Dawndy, Lilli & Luna came with us as well.  Good thing, I never would’ve waited over an hour to see the princess but being together made it bearable.

Cheese!

Maya’s eating a sucker to get her to sit in her stroller while we wait a bit longer.  Luna’s just hanging out.

There was an igloo for the girls to play in while they waited.

Maya didn’t love the fairy princess, this wasn’t much of a surprise given her feeling for Santa.

Just another winter’s day

December 18th, 2009

Maya’s sipping on her morning coffee (warm milk) in a snowman cup while Mommy makes her latte.

Enjoying a snowman cookie that Mommy brought home for baby girl.

Crown Center

December 17th, 2009

We met up with the Ambersons’ last weekend for a night at Crown Center.  It was beautiful and we had a great time.  We ate dinner at Fritz’s where Maya was in love with the train that delivers the food and then we did some shopping and listened to the Christmas carolers and looked at the Christmas displays.  Maya is not a fan of Santa so we did our best to avoid him.

If there’s such a thing of being loved too much, I bet Olivia could tell us about it.  She’s 3 months old now and smiling and responding when you talk to her and oh so sweet.
