9 month stats

July 23rd, 2008

Head: 17 1/2 (50%)

Height: 29 1/2 in. (93%)

Weight: 22lbs (90%)

We had a great trip to the doctor this morning. Maya got 2 shots and a finger prick with no tears! Her height and weight have slowed down a bit (used to be in 95% for both). Her favorite part was playing with the noisy paper on the table.

We met Grandma Rosie for breakfast after the appointment. Maya had some banana’s, cantaloupe, quiche & pancakes. Well mostly she played with the food and mushed it into her pretty pink dress, but a little got in the belly!

Maya greeted the people who passed by on the sidewalk with a nice smile hoping they notice what a big girl she is standing up to play with the flowers.

We went to the old house to water the plants today, so Maya got to take a ride in her swing.

Maya and I had the best Wednesday I could ask for.  She has been a snuggler all day long and just generally a happy girl.  We went on several errands and played a lot today.  It was one of those days that makes you feel all warm and tingly realizing that this is what its all about.  These moments.  She has grown so fast, I cannot believe its almost been a year.  The best year of my life and I’m so so grateful for our amazing little family.

Baby’s 1st Wedding!

July 21st, 2008

Saturday, Maya turned 9 months old!  We go to the doctor on Wednesday and will post the stats then.

Saturday night we went to my friend Denise’s wedding at Club 1000.  It was beautiful and fun to hang out with my bible study girlfriends.

Limes

July 21st, 2008

“Hey Ma!  Give me something to chew on!”

“Hmmmm a lime!  This is exciting!  I think I’ll try a bite”

“I love it!  I love limes!  I’m going to drop this one on the floor and I’d like another please!” —Maya Mireille Jacobsen

Look at those teeth!  Not so vampire-ish these days, now that the top front 2 teeth are poking through for a grand total of 6 teeth!

Here’s Maya helping me shop for bedding for our new bed.

Somebody doesn’t want to be a little Jayhawk! Uncle Lee & Kaitlin stopped by later that afternoon and after spotting the KU outfit from Nanny Katie went out and bought her 2 new MU t-shirts.  Pics of those to follow soon.

Wichita

We went to Stephanie’s house for the 4th to celebrate with some friends from our Friday play date group.  From Left to Right is Keira, Eva, Maya & Liam (Stephanie’s son).  We tried to get a good pic of the babies on the couch, but those never work out…

Trip to San Diego (Part One)

July 1st, 2008

We took another trip to see Aunt Brie. Here’s baby girl the day before getting excited about the trip.

On the plane ride. Maya got the 2nd best baby on the plane award on the way there and the #1 best baby on the very long ride home with lots of help from Kaitlin and Lee.

We hung out in Pacific Beach one day.

We all had Maya strapped to us at one point or another.

San Diego (Part Two)

July 1st, 2008

Beach bum

Hanging out in La Jolla. We wet to La Jolla 2 days. Once during the day to hang at the beach and the next time at sunset to look at the seals and do some shopping. Uncle Corey came with us the 1st day, but couldn’t come the 2nd time we went. I didn’t take very many pics this trip because Lee brought his fancy camera and he got the best shots. If I get the images from him and Kaitlin, I’ll post some more later.

Silly monkey

San Diego Zoo. We road the tram for a 40 minute ride through the zoo. We only had a few hours to spend at the zoo and we’d like to go back one day when there’s more time.

After the Zoo we went to Coronado for lunch and one last look at the beach. Maya’s wearing the dress Uncle Corey got her when he was out to sea with the Navy several months ago.

Wearing Uncle Lee’s Royals hat, hanging out in the SD airport ready to go home and see daddy! We missed daddy very much. Vacation is just not the same when one of us is missing. Whenever I’d say dadadada to Maya she’d get a huge grin on her face and look around for him. She’s going to be so excited to see him tonight!

We had a wonderful trip. We got in around 2am last night, so we’re a bit on the tired side, but we got to do a lot of fun things in San Diego and got to spend a lot of time with Uncle Corey & Aunt Brie enjoying their beautiful city before they leave in August to MOVE HOME (back where they belong I might add). haha. Safe travels, we love you! Thanks for your hospitality!

Wichita, again.

June 25th, 2008

Last week I had to go to Wichita again for work. Grandma Rosie & Maya came with me. In the evenings we took long walks and did some shopping. Here we are by the water near the shopping strip.

Maya experiencing ducks for the first time. She wasn’t real sure what to think of them.

Having fun with Grandma!
