We went to San Diego to visit Aunt Brie & Uncle Corey last weekend. Sunday was our 7th anniversary and what better place to celebrate than Cali?! Maya got to meet her Uncle for the first time. She’s a good little traveler if you don’t mind going through FOUR outfits on the way there. Unbelievable! (Unless you’re a more experienced parent than d or I then you know its perfectly normal and perhaps expected for your little miracle to poop through & spit up on that many outfits in just a few hours). So here’s to outfit #5 I think below, Grandma J. got this for Maya over New Years when she was here visiting.

Maya’s seat fit just fine in Brie’s car which is good because we spent a lot of time in there sight-seeing. She just held her baby doll & slept most of the time.

Corey had to work, but the rest of us went out for breakfast to a Crepe place in Coronado (I think). There may have been an incident where someone ordered 3 crepe’s on one meal out, but I’m not sure. Crepe appetizer (shared of course), crepe meal, and crepe dessert (shared of course). Anyway, it was very yummy and Maya was a good girl and let us eat.

Brie is a fabulous cook and she cooked several good meals for us while we were there. Maya enjoyed watching her and smelling her creations.

Maya was mesmerized by the fish in the tank at an Italian restaurant we ate at after our afternoon in La Jolla. The food was great, the service even better and the swimming fish put Maya right to sleep.

We had a wonderful time in La Jolla & after dinner we headed home to pick up Uncle Corey. After that we went to his ship and got the grand tour. That thing is amazingly huge and clean. Very clean.

So we had a few close calls. Hey Brie, remember that morning we tried to go to breakfast in the cold and rain and I dropped my wallet in the parking lot of IHOP? Remember when we got to YUM-YUM donuts (Ihop was too busy), and I realized it was missing and we were sure it was gone forever? We went back and a guy on his cell phone waiting outside in the rain for a table saw me get out of my car frantic and said, “hey, its inside”….God Bless you sweet boy! I’m not sure how I would have gotten out of Cali w/o my ID and my cash, cc etc. Wow.

Hey d, remember that time we were in the San Diego airport and you told me to hold on to your work laptop so you could go back and check another bag at the front desk? Yeah, the time I left your laptop on the table after security and proceeded to my gate never to think of your laptop again until you caught up with us 20 minutes later asking where it was. Luckily the TSA folks had it. Wow. Somebody was looking out for Ms. Lora on this trip.

—————–

Corey & Brie got some bonding time in with little Maya.

You can’t see it, but they’re sitting on a ledge in front of the ocean, it was so beautiful.

Maya was exhausted from her eventful trip and slept most of the plane ride home!
