Maya had to have a sedated MRI last Friday. Her right eyelid doesn’t close all the way and the peds eye dr. wanted to make sure there wasn’t anything going on in her head causing that to occur. Her vision is perfect so the only issue is that she sleeps with one eye open and when she looks down one eyelid doesn’t look down with it. The MRI was done at Children’s Mercy South and we had a wonderful nurse. That’s such a great hospital, we are very lucky to have it so close.

Poor baby all hooked up and ready for the sleepy medicines.

Here’s baby girl after the MRI, she woke up w/o a problem and got a new puppy from the hospital for being so brave. We went home and had lots of cuddles and naps the rest of the day.

The MRI came back normal! and now we’re looking into the next steps.
Every time we get out the vacuum Maya thinks she needs to take over. I’m worried her zest for cleaning might conclude the minute she might actually be able to help out…I think that’s the way this thing will go down.

Hard work!

Time for a break. Better ride the trike and take a drink. She’s still carrying her Valentine’s Day cards around!

Maya has been so sweet lately. She’s running at full speed all over the house. Her favorite is to run outside on the concrete to make me really nervous. The grass isn’t enough of a challenge for her. She’s trying to talk a lot more lately. She says, Mama, Da, book, juice, Ma (for Grandma), B (for Aunt Brie), Bye Bye, and this morning started to say spoon and I think she called Uncle Corey “E” as well.
The weekend before last we had dinner at the Humphrey’s beautiful new house in Lee’s Summit. Maya loved playing with all of Jonas’s cool toys. Jonas is very good at sharing his toys and they played really well together.

Below is Jonas with his “man bag”. Yes, its pink and sparkly, but his daddy still calls it a man bag. Whatever you say Kwanza!

Jo Ellen read books to the kids. Of course Maya won’t ever sit on my lap and let me read to her, but she was more than happy to share Jonas’s mommy and get some storytime in.

The picture below is the closest I got to capturing the kids kiss goodbye. Maya’s 1st kiss caught on camera, well at least the back of her head was caught on film. Precious. (Don’t worry, this will not happen again until she’s in her mid to late 20′s).

A couple weeks ago we went to Monkey Business with Chris, Dawndy, Lilli and Luna. Maya and Lilli had a blast, well so did the grown ups too! We got to jump in the big jumpers with the kids and go down the slides with them.
